COLO SPRGS, CO (Jan. 11, 2023) – USA Shooting shotgun athletes are kicking off 2023 with an International Shooting Sports Federation World Cup in Rabat, Morocco, Jan. 11-24.
The following athletes will be competing in Men’s Skeet:
Christian Elliott: 2022 World Championship silver medalist, Men’s Skeet Team
Conner Prince: 2022 Shotgun National Championship silver medalist, Men’s Skeet
Dustan Taylor: Championship of the Americas gold medalist and 2024 Olympic quota earner, Men’s Skeet
Josh Corbin: 2022 Shotgun National Championships silver medalist, Junior Men’s Skeet
The Women’s Skeet athletes competing for Team USA are:
Kim Rhode: six-time Olympic medalist, three in Women’s Skeet and three in Double Trap
Dania Vizzi: 2022 Championship of the Americas gold medalist and 2024 Olympic quota earner, Women’s Skeet
Katie Jacob: 2022 Shotgun National Championship gold medalist, Women’s Skeet
The Men’s Trap athletes representing Team USA consist of:
Derrick Mein: currently ranked No. 1 in the world for Men’s Trap, 2022 World Championship gold medalist, and 2024 Olympic quota earner, Men’s Trap
William Hinton: 2022 Championships of the Americas gold medalist, Men’s Trap Team; and 2024 Olympic quota earner, Men’s Trap
Derek Haldeman: 2019 Pan American Games silver medalist, and 2020 Olympic quota earner, Men’s Trap
Matthew Kutz: 2022 Shotgun National Championship gold medalist, Junior Men’s Trap
The Women’s Trap athletes competing for Team USA are:
Julia Stallings: two-time national champion. Women’s Trap
Aeriel Skinner: Championship of Americas gold medalist and 2024 Olympic quota earner, Women’s Trap
Rachel Tozier: 2022 Shotgun National Champion, Women’s Trap
Marian “Emmy” Zerby: 2022 Shotgun National Championships, gold, Junior Women’s Trap
Madelynn Bernau: 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games bronze medalist, Mixed Team Trap
The shotgun team hopes to continue the success they saw in 2022. Last year the athletes earned a total of fourteen medals at the Championships of the Americas and nine medals at the World Championships. Shotgun athletes have also earned U.S. Olympic quotas for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games in the following: two in Women’s Skeet, two in Men’s Skeet, one in Women’s Trap, and two for Men’s Trap.
